Distinctive self-hypnosis recording by a trainer of Hypnosis/NLP

This recording is a part of the Human Alchemy series created by Nick Kemp. ‘Letters To Your Unconscious’ uses some complex ideas in very new ways that are displayed on the four tracks. Nick aims to help you towards enhanced well being.

Turning lead into gold

For thousands of years this was the goal of the alchemists, to turn base matter into noble metals. Alchemy was the precursor to modern chemistry, so perhaps there really was an attempt to do this. It was certainly serious stuff: Isaac Newton was an alchemist and so was the astronomer Tycho Brahe. One of the leading figures in alchemy was Paracelsus, and he dismissed the idea of lead into gold, he was more interested in what happened inside human beings. He was searching for ways to become a more balanced and spiritually vital person. Certainly the great Karl Jung thought that the search for lead to gold was both a metaphor and a cover story for the real alchemy: human alchemy and the control of the unconscious.

Relating to the unconscious

We have beliefs about ourselves and of what is possible. These ideas are held in the unconscious and become evident when our behavior is analyzed. Somehow we acquire beliefs and habits, some of them inspire us, and most of them limit us in so many ways. So how do we communicate with our unconscious, perhaps we can send a letter?

Trance as a way of influencing the unconscious

Hypnosis is one way of communicating with the unconscious: it has been around for millennia, possibly for as long as the species Home Sapiens. It may well have preceded language: body language and tonality have no need of words and can induce trance on their own. The brain has various states it can enter; each one has a trademark brain wave frequency. And then there are the two sides of the brain, handing over to each other to perform various functions. There are rhythms to all this, and music is common to all human cultures. Chanting and rhythmic repetitions of a sound have been used in all cultures to induce an altered state. It seems that trance allows communication, and language, rhythm and music can bring on the trance.

Letters to the unconscious

And what to send to the unconscious? Perhaps a statement of good intent, and then leave it to the wisdom of the unconscious to make the right changes. In ‘Letters To Your Unconscious’, Nick Kemp puts it all together and adds in other important ingredients. The recordings allow for a deep relaxation and then the alchemy of balance and of metaphor set up an interval for accelerated change to take place.
